I was talking with Felicity the other day and the subject of online naturist images and naked selfies came up.
To be more particular, we talked about the strange (at least in our minds) profile pictures that some folks post on naturist websites. It is fantastic that nudismis slowly moving online but in our view , quality trumps quantity.
A quick online search brought up a bunch of so called Naturist Dating and Nudist Social Networkwebsites. Up to now as we could tell, there are a bunch of sites out there today that are being marketed as honest to goodness nudist websites. But are they actually?

Taking a quick look at some of the websites that came up, we came to the decision that a truenudist or naturistwould instantly be put off. This is largely due to the images they see. For instance, naked selfies such as the timeless nudist "reclining man bare" or the clear professional naked stock image of a porn star'ish woman would immediately discourage us from spending any time on the website.
Let's take for example a nudist dating site. While we expected to see precisely the same types of images as you would in another site (minus the clothes maybe), this really is not true.
A mainstream fabric dating site is filled with people from all walks of life who are hoping to make an excellent impression. In most of the pictures, the individuals are well dressed, in the midst of doing different things or just hanging out (excuse the pun). Those pictures try to convey something entertaining, fascinating or just a bloody good photo that they feel will increase the chances that they someone will click on their profile and hopefully contact them.

Flash back to the naturist dating site where many of the pictures tell quite an alternate story. The naturist sites are inundated with pictures of men and they are usually focused on their member. Moreover, many of the women's profiles can be located sporting pictures of girls in sexual poses as well as the apparent bogus pictures.
So this got us questioning - Why the enormous discrepancy between naturist sites and cloth ones? Why would a nudist dating site have so many member-focused images (which can be full of sexual undertones) while mainstream cloth website could have more actual / conservative images?
Are naturists who are looking to bring attention with their profile are reverting to Alpha Male Ape like behaviour? "Look At Me I'm Man" Syndrome? Do they really believe that by showcasing their manhood, women will flock to their profiles like moths to some flame?
